Welcome to my online portfolio and blog! I’m a game designer and developer from the sunny European island of Malta. I'm currently based in Stockholm, Sweden, where I work as a game programmer for virtual reality and augmented reality devices at Resolution Games.
I'm the proud owner of a PhD in Computing from the Open University in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, where I worked on automatically generating musical transitions for video games. I completed a MSc in Media Technology and Games at the IT University of Copenhagen, Denmark in 2013, and I also hold a B.Sc (Hons) ICT from the University of Malta, completed in 2011.
I co-founded Kvasir Games, a now defunct games company based in Copenhagen, Denmark, where we worked on and published board games. I also founded GameDev.com.mt, a website that serves as a central hub for game development in the Maltese Islands.
I’m very much into playing games as well as developing games: I enjoy playing digital RPGs, strategy games, and point-and-click adventure games on my PC, as well as board games and tabletop role-playing games with friends. I normally take the role of the dungeon master when playing role-playing games, since I love worldbuilding and tinkering with new designs and ideas.
My professional interests include game design and development, procedural content generation, computational creativity, educational games, music, and artificial intelligence. Outside of my professional role, I'm into folklore, reading (particularly sci-fi and fantasy), film, and making ice-cream.
